Baking a difference with the Westminster Society

2 July 2019

In April, 4C Hotel Group’s partnership with The Westminster Society gave rise to Cookie Day: a series of charity bake sales held across 4C Hotel Group’s offices and hotels. Our team members, guests and members of the public tucked into a variety of pastries and cookies while supporting the work of The Westminster Society, which provides quality services and opportunities for people with learning disabilities and their families.

A strong ethos of inclusion, openness and partnership with parents lies at the heart of the charity’s work to deliver a fun, safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow within. 4C Hotel Group is working with The Westminster Society to raise money for a new sensory room and equipment for its Rainbow Children’s Centre, as well as revamping essential kitchen facilities to cater to increasing demand at its main centre.

After the event, Masuma Begum, Duty Manager at Comfort Inn Victoria, said, “We were delighted with the results from ‘Cookie Day’. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has taken part and to those who contributed to raising awareness and donating towards The Westminster Society.”

Idy Udo, Executive Assistant at 4C Hotel Group, added, “We were overwhelmed by the support from the public and this has been such a fun way to raise awareness and support. A special thanks to the team at Holiday Inn London – Camden Lock for kick-starting our fundraising campaign with a donation of over 100 cookies, and to Garnier Bakery for their delicious pastries and muffins.”

Cookie Day was just a taster of things to come, with more fundraising events and sponsored challenges planned for later in the year. 30% of the target sum has already been raised, so we are well on our way to reaching our goal.
